PyroKarb Torch and Grit Test

UL2596 TaG testing is a brutal test simulating a high-temp battery thermal runaway with ejecta grit blasts.

A 2 mm PyroKarb laminate was tested to UL2596 TaG. This test simulates a high-temp battery thermal runaway with ejecta blasts. A torch is set at 1200°C (2190°F), 3 kW power, and every 15 seconds the panel is hit with a 5 second high-pressure grit blast. The cycle is repeated 10 times, 200 seconds, or until panel breaches or back side smolders. To pass, a panel must survive three grit blast cycles. Will Pyromeral’s PyroKarb pass? Watch the video and find out.
